Acer yangbiense is a newly described Chinese maple species. It has a restricted distribution range of 2,200–2,500 m altitudes in the western valley of Cangshan Mountain, Yunnan Province, China. This species is facing a very high risk of extinction because of its small population size, poor reproduction, and habitat degradation (Yang et al., 2019).
